Helping Blind Cats "See" a future

Maggie has had a rough life. Her first owner died and the daughter dumped her at the Humane Society. At the HS she came down with a very bad upper respiratory and eye infection. They did not treat her until she became very ill but then used the wrong kind of eye medicine in her eyes, which caused her eyes to burst. They were going to put her down at this point. A volunteer (who also had a small rescue) had been there during the time she was there and had observed what all had happened with her. She stopped them from killing Maggie, telling them that after they (HS) paid to have Maggie’s eyes removed, she would take her.

The rescue found a home for her. Her new owner was also the owner of Angel. When he was being evicted from his home for having to many pets,  he had to return Angel & Maggie back to the rescue. The rescue asked would we take Maggie and Angel, we of course said yes.

Maggie had a very hard time adjusting when she got here. She does not like other cats, does not like dogs, would swat first and ask questions later. Who could blame her, in 1 year she lost her lifetime home, got stuck in a shelter, lost her sight, and lost her second home and now had to adjust to a third home. She is doing much better, she loves to be pet and is quite the talker.
