Clover is a survivor in the truest sense, with a story that could have ended very differently. Just one day before Valentine’s Day, this sweet 1 year old girl was found on the side of a Florida road after likely being struck by a car. She had been lying there all alone for over a day with her eye ruptured, her jaw broken, and her body in immense pain. But somehow, she held on. When a kind hearted man happened to drive by, she found the strength to lift her head just enough to be seen. That small moment changed everything for her. He rushed her to the vet, where she underwent emergency care: her damaged eye was removed, her fractured jaw was carefully wired shut, and a feeding tube was placed to give her the chance to heal and regain her strength. It was a long and difficult road, but she never stopped fighting and her rescuer never gave up. And through it all, her gentle spirit never faded. Despite everything she’s been through, she is unbelievably loving. An affectionate little soul who just wants to be close to her people. She absolutely lives for attention, especially her beloved butt scratches. The moment you start, she lifts her back end as high as she possibly can, leaning in with all her might. She’s proof that resilience and sweetness can exist side by side. All she’s ever wanted is love and since that very day where she was rescued, she has known nothing but that and she will continue to know that same love here with us.
