Elizabeth
11/2018 Elizabeth is a leukemia positive kitty who who came to us from an Animal Control with her sister and another kitten. They all arrived sick with upper respiratory (which is pretty normal from animal control.) She is super friendly and playful.

1/1/2019 This is a very sad and unexpected letter to have to write. Elizabeth was not acting like her normal playful self this afternoon and seemed to be having trouble breathing. We immediately took her to the vet hoping it was asthma. Sadly the ultrasound and x-rays confirmed her chest was full of fluid. Blood work confirmed this was FIP. FIP is 100% fatal. Researchers are still trying to find a cure, there are studies being done but a vaccine for it still 1 or 2 years are away. FIP is very painful and the cats suffer geatly at the end. We knew sadly it was the right thing to let her go. She purred in my arms as she took her last breath. She was a fun active girl who kept her roommates on their toes and her antics. We are so sad we didn’t get a long time with her.
