Griffin
9/16 Griffin is a blind kitty . His owner had found several years ago starving on the streets of France. She gave him a home and got him healthy. When she moved back to the USA she knew eventually she was going to have to move in to care for an elderly relative who is very allergic to cats. She started looking for a home for him over a year ago and could not find anyone interested in giving him a home. She reached out to us a year ago and we said no, she reached out again out of sheer desperation for a safe place for him to go and this time we could take him. She is sponsoring him for the rest of his life. He is a super nice big fellow who is a real lap cat.

8/15/18 This is a letter that I knew I would be writing soon, but I am still astounded that I am writing it today. Griffin has suffered from severe kidney disease for some time. We had been taking him to the vet monthly for the last 6 months to monitor his disease and keep adjusting his medication in hopes of buying him time. He was also receiving fluids daily. Today he began projectile vomiting and was taken to the vet. (He was actually scheduled to go tomorrow) The vet drew new blood and his numbers were so bad. He took X-rays and found lots of free fluid in his abdomen. He did a sonogram and tapped the fluid and it was urine. He felt that most likely a ureter had ruptured. That could happen if the cat were to try to pass a small stone with kidneys that are just not functioning. His kidneys were 2 tiny little rocks, We knew that the condition of his kidneys was so bad, we were going to be here in a few more months... We so wished we had years but sadly that was not to be. I sat with the sweet fellow holding him as he crossed the rainbow bridge. He was just an amazing fellow, got along so well with all the other cats. Wifi and Yoshi loved to sleep with him. He was so loved and will be so missed. We were blessed to have had 2 years, we so wish we had so many more.
