Dear Supporters, Yesterday, Licorice seemed stiff, so we placed him in a cage briefly to keep him comfortable and supervise him, and he was returned to his room later that afternoon. When we came in this morning, it was clear he wasn’t himself. I took him to the vet, where we learned his kidneys were no longer functioning well and were in failure. At Blind Cat Rescue, we believe it is kinder to let them go on a good day, and anything further would have only prolonged the inevitable. Licorice came to us in 2010 from a dire situation, and because of your support, he was given a forever home. He was given nearly 15 more years filled with love, safety, and happiness. Those who knew him will forever remember his mischievous pranks, his larger-than-life personality, and the way he proudly showed off his belly. And of course, his love of shoes, once he had your foot, he wasn’t letting go anytime soon. We can all take great comfort in knowing that he is now able to run free without any ailments with Wifi, Serena, Voldo, Willow, Yoshi, Georgia, and Natasha. It is both incredibly beautiful and an immense privilege to care for another life and to watch them grow old in a place where they are loved every single day. Licorice was able to do that because of you. Your unwavering love and support made it possible for him to live a full, happy life with us. For that, we can never thank you enough. With heartfelt gratitude, Sam
