Jake
2011 Jake is a super friendly fellow whose owner thought it was ok to dump their 9 year old cat off at a kill shelter. A rescue pulled him from the pound. To their horror, he tested FIV positive. Having no adoption opportunities for him they contacted us to see if we could accept him. He would be euthanized if no placement could be found. He is a super nice fellow who gets along with the other cats. 3/28/2015 Jakes has been fighting pancreatitis, renal failure and irritable bowel syndrome. X-rays show us how hard of a life he truly had. He has bullet pellets in his back and hind end. Even with a feeding tube he is losing weight, and not absorbing nutrition. He is nauseous and vomiting when fed. There is no longer quality of life and the specialists said there is nothing more that could be done for him. The time has come to set him free. Jake is the most loving cat you will ever meet. He loved everyone, you would find him curled up cuddling with the other cats. We know his life before he came to us was rough, I hope the 4 years we were blessed to have with him he knew that he was safe, loved and cared for. Fly free our Batman, we will miss you.
