Skye
1/24/2016 Sweet Skye is blind & deaf. She came to us from animal control in Georgia. She was blessed to have someone will to go way out of the way to pick her up from animal control, her some medical care and transport her to us 6 hours away. She is hospitalized right now because she is not eating. Her X-rays show old healed injuries that may have been from being hit by a car or abuse. She is over 10 years old, has kidney disease, a seriously enlarged heart, an infection. She is very sweet. She will be coming home with a feeding tube and other meds that we hope will get her in better health.

Because we have such serious concerns about her health, right now she is not eligible for sponsorship. She also appears to have serious neurological issues, she does not know how to drink, (she just holds her head over the water, she never puts her tongue in to drink) We are hoping that might correct when the infection is under control. She is under close medical care. If we reach the point that we feel she can not have any quality of life, we will hold her and humanly send her back to her maker. We absolutely will not allow her to suffer. 2/17 Skye started having difficulty breathing, the vet and I decided with all the other things that were wrong with her it was time to let her go. We were in the position that we did not feel we could fix her enough for quality of life. She was not with us long, but she was very loved while she was here. She knew what a soft bed was, laying in a warm spot in the sun, a gentle touch, and food in her belly.
